Hello brown beauties!

I hope that you are well and that you have been enjoying some downtime with your friends and family during August! I have been taking a bit of a break from blogging and will be back in the swing of things in September, but I just wanted to take this time to thank everyone who attended the Keziah CONNECTIONS 5th anniversary celebration last month! We had a blast!

WE MADE IT TO 1ST OF AUGUST 2017 I am here just reflecting over the last week of July. It was pretty good! Especially having barely left my bed for a fortnight (I was not physically able – I will not mention the ‘S’ word that ends with ‘K’). But still I stubbornly worked. If you follow instastories, you would have seen evidence of all the galavanting last week. I thank God that He has made me well and able. First stop was the #KeziahConnections 5th Anniversary celebration. Once again congratulations to Miss Natalie @beautypulselondon excited to see where the next 5 years takes this network that you have brought together. Enjoy the photos! There is a video of me having a Lauryn Hill moment floating about somewhere. If you aren’t already doing so, from today please… Live life on purpose. 1st August 2017. It is a daily decision mind you. Believe me we all have hours, days, months, yeeeaaars, DECADES even (me) that [have] suck salt! However Nadia Haynes, personally chooses not to post the portion that comes her way – not necessary. So please do not romancitize what you see me posting. Depression is real. Do not become ill over what you think you see or know. Its nothing. Do not wish your life was like anyone elses but yours. My posts are for me to look back on when times are meh! But I do like to share snippets of what’s going on up in my cranium and heart. Posts are not premeditated, I just write and click share. If you ever see errors its because I don’t have predictive text and have chubby fingers lol. Back to my point. You have to choose how you respond to what stares you in the face. ‘Saints’ it’s not always the devil, sometimes it’s your decisions (s/o Dr Matthew L Stevenson III for that one) that cause you to end up in certain seasons. The devil is not that powerful nor wise for that matter. You are. So go and create memories that you can reflect on in those meh! moments. The evening was filled with fun, laughter and genuine togetherness and it was a honour to host these beautiful women of colour in celebration of our togetherness and support of one another! I am grateful to the Smashbox team who provided part ‘lipovers’ for all and to DJ Cuppy for bringing MAJOR vibes to the Smashbox studio!
