A highlight of the year for me so far (besides the awesome #Saltbae!!), was seeing the queen of the catwalk and fashion doyenne, Naomi Campbell feature in the latest Givenchy Jeans SS17 campaign.
At 46 fabulous years of age, Miss Campbell shows no sign of relinquishing her modelling prowess. The sultry campaign was lensed by fashion photographers Luigi & Tango, with Carine Riitfeld in charge of styling. The legendary supermodel is accompanied by male model Justin Levy.
Despite the negativity and racism Naomi has encountered during her 30 year career (which I have written about here), her friends in the fashion industry have remained just that – her friends! They have often defended her in the face of unwarranted criticism and her continual presence at the helm of the fashion industry is a testament to her dedication and unflinching work ethic.

She is epitome of ‘letting your results do the talking’ and as I get older, I embrace and appreciate this sentiment more and more. Irrespective of what is said about you or how others perceive you to be based on their own prejudices and biases, time will testify of YOUR truth. Naomi has been a visual and vocal advocate for more diversity and inclusion in the fashion industry and she reaffirmed her pride in being a black woman in fashion in last year’s FANTASTIC ‘Black is The New Black‘ series, that was a part of the BBC’s Black and British season.
