Celebrating 3 years of @keziahCONNECTS and 4 years of @beautypulse_ldn!!

Can you believe that we are almost half way through September!!??!!

I was occupied with my mum’s wedding at the beginning of the month – look out for pics and make up tips from the day but I am now back into the swing of things and I am ready and raring to go for the last quarter of 2015!

As I mentioned in previous posts, this is my favourite month of the year, it is my birthday month (hurrah!), it heralds the start of the new season (look out for my new season beauty and skincare picks for all of you beautiful #brownbeauties on the blog and on Periscope!!) and I can reflect on the anniversaries of my networking organisation Keziah CONNECTIONS, which has been bringing together Women of Colour in the Beauty and Lifestyle industries for 3 years in July, and my beloved blog – which turned four last month!
Keziah CONNECTIONS’ 3rd Anniversary!

It was a honour to host the 3rd anniversary of my Keziah CONNECTIONS network with Black|Up Paris.

Vesta of chocolate~n~curves.com shares the low down of the wonderful evening, that was full of celebration, community and inspiration!

Wine, nibbles and sophisticated brown beauties…that was the vibe of Keziah CONNECTIONS 3rd anniversary celebrations at the Noir Bar just off Oxford Street, London that took place on the 27th of July.

To help celebrate the event was Elizabeth Tulloch, UK Area Manager for Black|Up Paris, armed with goodie bags with samples to swatch at home and in house makeup artists who were busy all night with make overs.

After a quick summer break in June, it felt like old friends meeting up to share entrepreneurial updates and business ideas. That is why we all love networking at Keziah CONNECTIONS and over 50 women and men were on hand to help Natalie celebrate 3 years of creating such a space for us Women of Colour across the UK to interact and strive to break boundaries in an industry that can seem like wasn’t built to accommodate us.

Natalie, the ever fabulous hostess, welcomed everyone warmly, connecting them to another as soon as they walked through the door and with 2 DJs on deck, the atmosphere was celebratory and definitely chilled too.

I always wonder how she secures such venues in the West End…venuesonly worthy of walking into after changing into your heels! It is not that flats are not welcome but with the people you are likely to meet… magazine editors, creators, bloggers and business owners, I have realised that when you are dressed to connect, then you do; especially at Keziah CONNECTIONS!

You come armed with your business cards and your ideas, because anything can happen. You may be talking to Ade, founder of Nubian Skin, Ronke of Brown Beauty Talk among other influential game changers in the #brownbeauty arena

I want to especially thank Wayne Wayne Shorter-Campbell and the Errol Douglas Salon for making me look fabulous on the day! Wayne joined the ED team just over a year ago and brings with him a plethora of experience and award winning credentials!

Wayne is the Afro Specialist at the salon, with an ardent passion for beautiful hair. He loves doing weaves, but is also a dab hand with the relaxer too! Look out for more from Wayne on the blog…coming very soon!

Keracare products were used to cleanse and moisturise my natural hair. I especially enjoyed the application of the KeraCare Humecto® Creme Conditioner. This rich conditioner gave my hair the hydrating boast that it needed. The product claims to improves the surface porosity of hair resulting in a softer hair texture – and I really felt this to be the case – it is a fantastic product!

The BPL Blog birthday!!

My blog is four years old! I feel like a mother, brimming with pride at the development of her baby!

It has been a jam packed year for my blog so far with…

…being nominated for the 2015 Wise Woman Awards in March…

…and was subsequently featured in the sister magazine to the event ‘Keep The Faith’…

Absolutely blown away with the my feature in the latest issue of @KeepTheFaithmag!!! My faith has been the key to every success that I have experienced! Through the ups and downs God has be faithful and there is nothing more exciting than seeing God's will for your life unfold! It is also a honour to be in the same issue as my former pastor, Pastor Agu Irukwu of Jesus House London. In my early years as a young Christian, his teaching and the church's mission statement 'In pursuit of God, Discovering Purpose and Maximising Potential, were integral to guiding my path and helping me to understand that I am here for a purpose – as we all are! I want to encourage you to strive for your goals and dreams, that you have them is NO accident! Thanks again to Marcia Dixion, Tamela Ceaser and the KTF team!
