The Hardy Cardi!

It’s officially British Summer time yet as I write this post it is snowing! So it is not quite time to pack away your winter  warmers just yet. A classic cardi is ideal for the transitional season and unpredictable weather and it a staple item in Mrs Obama’s wardrobe.

Today, cardigans are as playful and diverse as they’ve ever been. Now a simple plain knit cardigan is not the only option on the table; wrap around ballet cardigans and button-up cardigan dresses are available alongside belted oversize numbers inspired by traditional men’s knitwear. Here’s a look at the most on-trend cardigans….

Lace back

Add a racy touch to your outfit with seductive lace panelled cardigans which reveal your back through an ornate cut-out. Lace panels may also be found on sleeves and shoulders.

Crew neck

When you want a twee and simple cardigan, choose a plain coloured crew neck cardi with long sleeves. These typically thin cardigans look sweet on top of a floral tea dress or teamed with a nice blouse and midi skirt.

Batwing

If you want a statement cardigan, the batwing design is one way to go. Not design for maximum warmth, but more as a fashion conscious piece this cardigan features oversized short sleeve designs named ‘Batwings.

I like the grey cardigan. Now I have an idea what to get my girlfriend on her birthday.

I cant deny, I’m a cardi lover. Mrs O looks amazing! Seems to have lost a little weight and toned up a bit more, didn’t even think that was possible. Will try to find that copy of O.

I have always loved a cardi (even when they weren’t in fashion). I think the crew neck one has a bit of a 1950’s look to it.
