Hello brown beauties!

Thanks to all of you that have asked about me and my studies…things have really ramped up over the past month or so, so I will be blogging less during the run up to Christmas. I very much appreciate your continued support though!

After recently submitting a presentation on Operations Management (😩😩😌😌!), I treated myself to a trip to Stylist Live on the Saturday of the three show event that took place between the 9th – 11th of November.

One of the main reasons for visiting was to see my girl Dija Ayodele (founder of the Black Skin Directory) and beauty journalist of 20 years and founder/editor of jeweltonesbeauty.com, Ateh Jewel in action, discussing the ‘politics of colour in the beauty industry’.

The stage was packed and the topic most certainly needed longer than the 20 minutes that it was allocated but the discussion between Dija and Ateh was robust and informative – they didn’t always agree – but that is the nature of a good debate! Well done to the both of them!

New Year, New Skincare Rules, BSD Masterclass

If you didn’t get a chance to see Dija at Stylist Live or at the BSDxKeziahCONNECTIONS event that took place earlier this year, do not dispair, there is still a chance to tap the brain of the skincare guru this side of 2018!

If you are feeling a bit ‘meh’ by your current skincare regime or feeling confused about which products you should be using, make sure that you join Dija and Black Skin Directory On the 28th November for her ‘New Year, New Skincare’ Masterclass.

The masterclass is being hosted by the Adonia Medical Clinic which is owned by aesthetic expert Dr Ifeoma Ejikeme.

This photo was taken late last night in the clinic, so busy but grateful to have an incredible team, to treat such amazing people and do a job I love. . I remember a time I didn’t love going to work (different job), now I wake up happy, planning my day reviewing before and after photos, creating treatment plans and making sure each person I see get me on my best day. That sometimes means rather than leaving at 8pm on a Thursday I’m there till 10 and still smiling. . Have a wonderful evening wherever you are and see you soon at the clinic ⭐️ . To book a consultation call with me and my team call me on 02038757399 . Dr Ejikeme has one hell of a CV! She is a NHS medical consultant and highly experienced aesthetic medicine doctor with extensive global training in Medicine and Surgery. She graduated from Bristol University and trained at Imperial College Trust hospitals before moving to New York, where she gained a post doctoral fellowship in head and neck surgery at Columbia University. Upon completing her training she went on to gain a board certification in internal medicine from the New York Medical College. BSD Pigmentation E-pop-up Shop

The BSD also launched its pigmentation e-pop-up shop earlier this year! It is the first in a series of targeted e-pop-ups that will provide effective treatment solutions for the unique needs of darker skin tones.

With pigmentation being one of the most common skincare concerns reported by black women and women of colour the shop offers a considered edit of three clinically proven and trusted pigmentation treatments for those looking to tackle the issue:

1 – NeoStrata Enlighten Illuminating Serum – fights pigmentation in 3 ways – it exfoliates off existing pigmentation, inhibits new pigmentation forming and it brightens the skin. As with all NeoStrata products, there are robust clinical trials and the results are incredible, with 87% of patients showing a clinical improvement of mottled pigmentation after 4 weeks. £68

2 – Nuhanciam Anti Dark Spot Power Factor 4. This high-performance anti-dark spot serum visibly reduces the appearance of all pigmentation marks, including age spots and traces of hyperpigmentation remaining after skin trauma or injury, such as breakouts, scars and other lesions on the face and body. Formulated with the active ingredients that act on four factors involved in the formation of dark spots, it provides targeted action to lighten dark spots, without depigmentation of the skin around them in as little as two months. £45
NB – Black Skin Directory is the exclusive UK stockist for Nuhanciam, the cult French skincare brand providing clinically proven and effective products for medium to dark skin tones.

3 – SkinBetter Science Even Tone Cream – featuring the patented b.r.y.t. complex by SkinBetter, this ground-breaking non-hydroquinone and non-retinol formula delivers a visibly dramatic reduction in the appearance of hyperpigmentation with clinicals results showing 96% of respondents reporting a significant reduction in uneven skin tone and discolouration. £130
