Go Big or Go Home! Freddie Harrel launches the Big Hair No Care Pop Up.

The one and only Freddie Harrel, the style influencer with the mega-watt smile, has opened a pop up store for her debut hair line Big Hair No Care! Renowned for her statuesque afro, Freddie developed a range of easy to install extensions designed specially for our hair types. The extensions come as easy to use clip-ins: ‘Zero Drama Queen'(£40) adds natural looking volume, whilst ‘No Stress Princess’ (£40) offers a more relaxed, blown out look.

I had the privilege of attending the launch event of the opening of the Big Hair No Care boutique which is based in the trendy Pop Brixton – a creative space for independent businesses.

Say hello to our newest member Big Hair No Care… the brainchild of the wonderful @freddieharrel. We’ll be telling you much more about what she’s up to at Pop Brixton soon… watch this space! . . . #bighairnocare #hairstyles #afrohair #brixton #freddieharrel #hairspiration #style

The bright pink space exudes Freddie’s effervescent personality and it was wonderful to be welcomed by friend of BPL and past Keziah CONNECTIONS speaker Irene Moore, who is handling the PR for Freddie (#blackgirlmagic overload!). After grabbing a ‘cheeky’ rum punch, the boutique quickly filled up with a bevy of #brownbeauties sporting an array of hair textures!

Checking in for @freddieharrel #BigHairNoCare launch!! Many, many congrats hun! . #blackgirlmagic #brownbeauty #wocinbeauty #wocinbusiness #brixtontings #popup #naturalhair #wigs #clipins

It was great to reconnect with Ibi Meier-Oruitemeka, founder of the Afro Hair and Skin Company (whom I met at the recent DINN event) and to meet Tammy, founder of the product line Jim + Henry. Both of these ranges are available to purchase at the Pop Up too!

Tonight. @freddieharrel absolutely smashed her store opening of @bighair_nocare at @popbrixton and we are proudly on the shelves! Massive THANK YOU Freddie for a wonderful evening of love and light ✨✨✨✨✨✨ #JimandHenry #bighairnocare #FreddieHarrel #afrohair #zerodrama #curlyhair #curls #afro #us #we #together #morethanenough

During the evening Freddie gave an impassioned speech about her entrepreneurial journey (after being unable to find hair extensions that mimicked her own hair’s texture) and her vision for the space.

The Big Hair No Care Pop Up will provide a beautifully designed space for fellow ‘Curly Girls’ to connect and creatives from across the black hair and beauty sectors to discover the wonderful work we are all doing!

Freddie is determined to turn Big Hair No Care into one of the biggest afro beauty brands – I have no doubt that she will achieve this goal – and I am just as excited as Freddie is to see her venture grow – I LOVE seeing Black women doing their THING in the beauty busines!!
