…as well as planned and hosted the 4th anniversary of the Keziah CONNECTIONS!! Look out for more about these events in future posts!

During this time however, the BPL ‘beautification‘ has still been in full swing and here is a round up some of the products/services I have been testing!

Body Shop PINITA COLADA range and Instaglow CC cream

The Bodyshop introduced its summer limited edition body range earlier in the year and I have been using it during the summer months! The Pinta Colada collection is a playful range with a ‘cocktail of pineapple and coconut’ extracts. The fragrance is very pleasant and definitely evokes a feeling of a beach holiday – a holiday in a bottle!

@thebodyshop goodies for the summer….just need the sun to make a reappearance!!! 🌞🌞🌞 #brownbeauty #beautybloggers #bbloggers #beautychat #wocinbeauty #thebodyshopuk #highlighter #skincare #summer #new

The range consists of a body wash, body scrub, body butter and body sorbet. I tested the wash, scrub and the sorbet. The body was was pretty standard and typical of the Body Shop’s quality – a little goes a long way and the foam is full and hearty-just how I like it, I was however less impressed with the body scrub and sorbet. The scrub features real coconut as the exfoliating agent and I didn’t like the feel of this on my skin, nor the consistency it conferred on the product, which was quite gloopy. I didn’t feel that the scrub exfoliated as effectively as other Body shop scrubs I have used in the past, so if you are looking for a more rigorous exfoliation, this may not be the product to use. The sorbet -described as a lightweight body moisturiser – is just not hydrating enough for my skin, I also found the semi-gel like formula hard to rub in. A body butter is much more my thing!

During this time the Body Shop also extended the Instablur range (check out my review here)

Racquel Smith @ModelRacquel of ‘The Face UK’ is back for @thebodyshop !! The new Instaglow CC Cream SPF 20 comes in 3 shades for all skintones! Hurrah! Look out for my review…coming soon on the BPL blog! In the meantime, check out my #retropost featuring Racquel’s first #thebodyshop campaign >>https://beautypulselondon.com/from-the-face-uk-to-the-face-of-the-body-shop-racquel-smith-modelracquel-fronts-thebodyshopuk-s-instablur-campaign/ #brownbeauty #beautyblogger #brownblogger #melanin #blackgirlmagic #instabeauty #beautychat

The Body Shop gets a thumbs up for the marketing campaign that features the model Raquel Williams again – clearly highlighting that the product is suitable for a range of skin tones, unfortunately, I didn’t find that the product itself added much value to my regime. It does not provide enough coverage to act as a tinted moisturiser, however the consistency is too light to be an effective primer for my combination-oily skin type. It doesn’t have a shimmer to act as a highlighter, so it is a product that I would not purchase.

MIZANI True Textures relaunch

Premium, professional haircare brand MIZANI unveiled their new look TRUE TEXTURES range in the UK in March. The range is designed to provide enhanced definition for curls, coils and waves.

Recognising that an increasing number of women are transitioning and embracing their natural curls, the exciting range builds on the success of the previous TRUE TEXTURES line by offering enhanced formulas, a mouthwatering tropical fruit colada scent and a fresh new look.

Paraben and sulfate free, all products in the new TRUE TEXTURES range are infused with nourishing marula, olive and coconut oils to provide balanced levels of moisture, plus use MIZANI Curl Care Complex Technology to smooth, condition and hydrate hair.

The range consists of:

MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES CREAM CLEANSING CONDITIONER >> formerly Cleansing Cream Conditioning Curl Wash
MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES MOISTURE REPLENISH SHAMPOO >> replaces TRUE TEXTURES Curl Balance Shampoo
MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES MOISTURE REPLENISH CONDITIONER >> NEW!
MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES INTENSIVE MOISTURE REPLENISH TREATMENT >> an update of the TRUE TEXTURES Curl Replenish Masque.
MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES CURL DEFINING PUDDING >> formerly Moisture Stretch
MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES STYLE REFRESHER MILK >> formerly Curl Recharge
MIZANI TRUE TEXTURES CURL ENHANCING LOTION >> an update of TRUE TEXTURES Perfect Curl

I was sent a selection of the items to test. I did like to new packaging design – it is disruptive and distinguishes the range from the core products.

The @mizaniuk True Textures range has had a facelift! Thank you @up_live for the products! Looking forward to testing these out! I enjoyed using the cleansing conditioner, which cleaned the hair whilst adding moisture. The Intensive Moisture Replenish Treatment defined my curls but I wasn’t overwhelmed with the post wash hydration. I do like the Refresher Milk however for hydrating the hair during washes, but the Curl Enhancing Lotion was not the best product for my very coily hair and I felt that it sat on the top of the hair and did not fully define the curls when my hair was dry. All in all though, it is a good all around range for textured hair that is easily purchasable online or from a official MIZANI salon.

Chelsea Day Spa – Gel Manicure

The Great British Summer has taken a while to arrive, but we have been blessed with a few sunny weeks, so manicures and pedicures are a must! I was invited to the Chelsea Day Spa on the Kings Road for a gel manicure, which is part of their ‘Beach Body Beautiful Offering’ – a selection of treatments at purse friendly prices that will help you feel and look your very best in preparation for the holiday season or as a post vacation pick me up as the offers are available until the end of September. The Cheslea Day Spa runs on the mandate of affordable and accessible luxury treatments in the heart of London’s West End.

Thank you @chelseadayspa for my @jessicanailsuk Gel manicure! Krystina, the therapist was excellent! #beauty #beautychat #bblogger #londonbeauty #londonblogger #notd #gelmani #summerfun #fridayfeeling #readyfortheweekend #beautyinfluencer #klout63

I had the Jessica gel nail offering – called GELaration. My therapist Kristina was courteous and professional and did an excellent job tidying up my cuticles and applied the gel to a high standard. I was extremely impressed with the performance of the Jessica gel itself, this was the first time this gel had been used on my nails. The formulation was long lasting and retained its sheen for the duration of the time I was wearing the product. If you live near by or pass by the Kings Road, do make an appointment, call 020 7351 0911 or visit thechelseadayspa.co.uk.
