Happy New Month!

Thank you all for stopping by the BPL blog last month! It was a really busy one for me… I have been preparing to speak at two major events- the Southbank Centre’s Woman of the World Festival – in celebration of International Woman’s Day on the 9th of March (which I talked about in my last post)

..(check out the images of the event on Pinterest – it was a major success and I thank all the guests for attending and making it such a special evening!).

As always here is a quick round up of your favourite posts from the month of February and as always I am really grateful to you for reading, subscribing to and tweeting about my blog!

Have a wonderful March!

3. Guest Post! Product Review: Avon Ideal Flawless Skin Loving Beauty Balm by Rae aka @AMusingMissB

Rae’s comprehensive review of Avon’s new BB cream has proven to be very popular…unfortunatly, once again, Avon has come up short in it’s provision of shades for darker skin tones in the UK….

The post sparked a debate about the ‘demand’ for the products for the woman of colour, but I think Avon is on the brands in a much better position to service the needs of the woman of colour here in the UK, the US subsidiary sell a wide range of products that would suit us and the imagery and creatives are available….so what is the issue??

4. Black Gold – Ethnic Beauty and the British Beauty Industry at Making Cosmetics 2013.

Another post that highlights the lack of foundation shades for deeper skin tones available on the high street

*sigh*

A Twitter exchange I had with the leading beauty blogger Charlotte of Lipglossiping.com led to this post on her site. 17 readers have commented on the post to date – make sure you add your comments too! However, it is not all doom and gloom, as I also mention that I am speaking at Making Cosmetics, a national conference that attracts over 800 industry professionals on the subject of beauty for the woman of colour – read on to find out more!
