Daniel has been worked as a make-up artist for over 25 years starting as a teenager in the 80’s.

I was sent a selection of the products from the Catwalk Compact Creme-Power SPF 25 and the Camo Cover Heavy Duty Concealer collections to test.
The products are packaged in a modern brushed silver plastic which is premium yet edgy!

The Catwalk Compact SPF25 is a cream-in-a-compact formulation which is described as a cream-to-powder.
It comes in 4 shades which are suitable for darker skin tones. For a independent brand this is certainly admirable, the only downside is that the darkest shade is only suitable for those with a medium brown tone.
The suitable shades are numbered from 7-10 and shade 10 was my match. I was however extremely impressed with the smooth, skin like finish. The formula is very malleable and I loved the way it blended effortlessly and it looks very natural indeed.
The compact comes with a sponge designed to provide a buildable coverage but I preferred to use a foundation brush as there was less drag on my skin and used my fingers to build up the coverage where needed. The foundation also gets a massive thumbs up for containing a SPF of 25.
The product is said to produce a matte powder finish but I felt that this was not the case and as I have slightly oily skin I had to use a light powder to keep the shine at bay but this didn’t compromise the performance of the foundation in any way. It is incredibly long lasting.
The selection of the Cameo Cover Heavy Duty concealers also get a thumbs up! Do not let the name put you off.
The formulation provides a full coverage but is light and does not crease. The colour palette goes much deeper than the foundation range so it is also a great little collection for your highlighting and contouring kit!
As per my previous foundation reviews – I also take into account the marketing support the brand employs to communicate the the woman of colour that it has products suitable for her skintone…and unfortunately this is the only area where the brand let me down…
The Daniel Sandler website has Skin Tone – Shade Finder page but as you can see for yourself the ‘dark’ skin model is not representative of the range of the products that are actually available!!
This page infers to customers like my self that there would not be a suitable shade for my tome – which is not the case…I really do not get why companies fail to see how important this is??
The brand did redeem itself by providing this make up tutorial on a beautiful model Ayoola…
…so it would great to see Ayoola in the Shade Finder section too!
Despite this minor hiccup, I really did like the products and I would definitely repurchase – both items are are on sale at the moment (whoop!) – so stock up while you can!
