Today is a very special day!
I am celebrating the second anniversary of Keziah CONNECTIONS, the networking organisation that I started in 2012 with one simple mission:
“To facilitate and empower the progression of the Women of Colour within the British Beauty Industry”
I cannot believe it has been two years since the germ of the idea dropped into my heart, with the name (inspired by the Biblical name Keziah) swiftly following! Little did know how much this organisation would change my life – I am so grateful to God for every success that I have achieved because with Him all things are possible!
I genuinely want to thank every person the has supported this venture, all of the brands, the guests, the bloggers and vloggers and the fabulous partner venues…I wouldn’t have reached this milestone without your efforts and dedication.
So what is in store for the birthday celebration??
Partnership, sharing and the celebration of others is at the heart of Keziah CONNECTIONS evenings and this will be the essence of the spectacular anniversary event taking place in conjunction with Fashion Fair UK!
It will be hosted at Debenhams Oxford Street – the retail group’s largest and most prestigious store. This is such a blessing and I am so excited!!
All of the guests will enjoy drinks and canapés as well as have the opportunity to network and learn more about the extensive product range that the brand has to offer.
Fashion Fair UK’s General Manager Connie Jackson will share the inspiring history of the iconic brand and the plans for its future. Connie has served as General Manager for the UK and Europe since November 2012. Prior to this, Connie served as Operating Executive for Stargate Capital Investment Group (SCIG), working with portfolio companies of SCIG’s Trapezia Fund. An accomplished interim executive and business advisor, previous appointments also include the start-up of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and merger implementation for the National Health Service (NHS) here in London.
She is an honours graduate of Fisk University in the US and also boasts a graduate diploma from the London School of Economics AND a MBA from Harvard University!
Connie is also involved in several civic activities, including serving as Chair of the Soup Kitchen at the American Church in London and as a governor of Goodenough College.
Connie is sure to inspire and motivate the guests – so please do join us if you can!
There will be goodie bags and great prizes – including £150 worth of Fashion Fair’s best selling products, the amazing Oil Control Loose Powder in Sugar, the Special Formula Lotion and the Powder Brush – which is the perfect partner for the Oil Control Powder will all be up for grabs!
It is certainly going to be an evening to remember!
They will be giving away products from the new Bare & Natural range – I will be wearing the hair (kindly installed by Victoria this evening so look out for the images on Instagram!
The outfit that I will be wearing was produced by Chika Umenyiora founder of the StylemeupNetwork a style channel/network which supplies African prints in various textures and finishes from chiffon to silk, stretch Jersey to printed guipure lace, embroidered silk, sequins and much more!
The company also provides custom fabric printing for fashion collections, boutiques, weddings (Aso-Ebi) and special occasions.
