The online British #brownbeauty revolution continues!

After working as a leading beauty journalist for over 14 years, the award winning Ateh Jewel launches jeweltonesbeauty.com this month to celebrate make-up, haircare, skincare and wellbeing for women with Asian, Middle Eastern and Darker skin tones.

Hurrah!!

JEWELTONESPUREWHITEBG

Jewel Tones Beauty will take an aspirational and exciting look at the latest beauty trends, product launches, wellbeing and backstage beauty and will be packed full of video content with regular features such as Curl Corner, an in-depth look of loving and maintaining curls.

Ateh Jewel infuses her years of experience writing for titles such as Vogue, German Vogue, Sunday Times Style Magazine, Daily Mail, In Style Magazine, The Guardian Weekend Magazine, Marie Claire (for whom she was a columnist for over 2 years), The Guardian Weekend Magazine, Grazia, Black Hair and Beauty, Emirates Bride and Tatler, to bring you a beautifully presented site with videos featuring the biggest and best celebrity MUSa, bloggers, and industry experts. One such expert includes British MUA Charlotte Tilbury, who exudes with love for black skin and showcases the products from her iconic range that are suitable for a darker skintones.

Ateh is also a mother of 3 year twin daughters. Her daughters were a major inspiration Ateh to embalk on this venture. She states that, “I didn’t want my girls to grow up feeling the way I did. As a beauty mad teen I was often turned away from make up counters and told there is ‘nothing here for you’. Growing up, I didn’t see many reflections of myself in the media or articles addressing my specific beauty concerns such as pigmentation and my textured afro hair. The beauty world has changed so much for the better- even though there is a way to go.

I couldn’t agree more with Ateh’s sentiment, whilst there has been real progression within the industry, there is much more that needs to be done – but it is site such as this that will be a part of this tremendous change!

Of course Ateh is all over the social media landscape and you can keep up to date with her latest antics via her Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and of course her via YouTube channel!
